What is Defragmentation?

Well lately my friend told me about this program called Auslogics Disk Defrag. It is supposed to defragment your disk and make it run faster. So I thought to myself what is defragmentation?

Well I did a little bit of research and defragmentation is the process to remove framented files. What are fragmented files? Fragmented files are files that are descending from a large file that has been cut into several pieces and scattered across the computer. The reason the computer does this is because it saves space although the computer begins running slower. It runs slower due to the fact that it must search all over the computer each time you want to run the program.

After having a computer for many years the computer has developed millions of fragmented files making the computer extremely slow. Many people think they have to buy a new computer but if you defragment your computer weekly or even monthly you will notice a huge difference in computer speed.
