Steps to Install IBM Web Application Bridge

Steps to install Web application bridge in WPS server.

I struggled for two days to finallyget this straight. I was asked to do an RnD on WAB (Web Application Bridge) and I was completely new to the topic. Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty simple. The IBM site has already listed some of the steps to be performed.

So let me list down the complete procedure that i followed to install WAB in Websphere portal server.

1) You would need a login user Id password to download the required softwares from the IBM website.

First download Solution Installer from here

https://greenhouse.lotus.com/plugins/plugincatalog.nsf/assetDetails.xsp?action=editDocument&documentId=3E21DDAB3EE4DC598525775E00576826

Then download Web application bridge zip from here

https://greenhouse.lotus.com/plugins/plugincatalog.nsf/assetDetails.xsp?action=editDocument&documentId=9FAAD6D44DC64231852577EB006F4D9D#

Unzip both in your C:

2) Goto the SolutionInstaller folder. for example if you saved the folder in C:SolutionSolutionInstallerdocumentation

Refer IBM WebSphere Portal Solution Installer User Guide pdf for installing SolutionInstaller

For installing WAB Refer  http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/portalwiki.nsf/dx/Installing_the_web_application_bridge_V7

(vwab.paa)

3) After installing vwat.paa check for webDockPortlet.war which will be available in C:IBMWebSpherepaavwatcomponentswp.vwat.webdockinstallableAppsportlets

4) Login to WPS with admin user id.

Configure Web Dock in WPS by following Step 7 from

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/portalwiki.nsf/dx/Provisioning_a_backend_site_using_the_web_application_bridge_V7

In edit shared settings – add host, url and other details.
