On 12.08.01, In Hotmail will disappear, as Microsoft will turn it into @outlook.
I heard a news that for me is a bit sad: Hotmail will disappear. Apparently Microsoft has decided to make a bold move and change it to @outlook, which is sad specially as users were not asked about this.
I have had my @hotmail email for more than 15 years now, which is incredible. It was my first email address, and it has always been my primary personal email address. To most people this may be a simple change, something they don’t even care about, but for me it felt almost as if it was part of my Internet name.
I wish customers were asked about their feedback. Although hotmail has always been a free service, after so many years one feels partly owner of the brand. I remember the first interface and how much the appearance and the service has evolved.
It is a sad day, and I doubt I could ever feel something even close about outlook or any other brand. I also have a Yahoo email account that I have held for 10+ years, but it is not the same.
I will always remember my hotmail, and will probably always be uneasy with Microsoft for betraying me like that.
