Computersight -

Is it just me or is the new version of word just totally impossible to use?  I mean, I’m no hard core computer geek, who spends days on the net learning how to use Linux, then claiming that really its a lot easier that Windows, because with just twenty easy doss-like steps you can load a calculator.  Or that, although Windows and Macos are easier to use for non-computer geeks, Linux offers superior stability, which allows the true geek to play computer games seven days a week without pesky breaks!!

God that was a long tangent.  I’m not a computer geek, but I’m also not a computer virgin.  I use word, have used word, used other word processing packages.  Some really aren’t very good.  I used a version of open office that drove me mad.  Simple nothing made sense.  But then I bought Microsoft word, and I really think that it was a lot better.  Say I wanted to make text bigger, I’d use the quick tool at the tool along the top.  Right, I’ll do it now, wait no, new world doesn’t have it on the tool bar.  No worries, I’ll check with font that kind thing.   No, can’t see it there.  Insert, no, tools word count, no, table, no.  Sigh, bound to be somewhere.   File, no not there, edit, no.  Wait, I tried file but didn’t check through preference.  Nope, no preference to show me it.  Ok Ok, but it msut be there right?  No, its not there, in fact I still have no idea where it is.

In fact it seems to me that new word has basically got rid of several handy things about old word.  But, not only has it removed some handy features, and made the whole package more difficult to use.  It also appears to have no benefits.  That’s right, I honestly have found no improvements, and nothing but drawbacks. 

So, if anyone finds a benefit to new world , do tell me.  In fact if you can just explain how to change the size of type that would be ace.

OR Microsoft.  If your reading, change it back, please!!
