1.       How They Lure You In To Buy This Software.

Now we all want the best for our children don’t we? We want them to be intelligent and to have a good job in the future, This is what the marketers for these types of software do, they make it sound compulsory to buy this software for your children, they make it sound like it will do good for them, But the truth behind it all is that it doesn’t turn out as it was expected to be.

These people do massive amount of advertising which you may have missed but it’s out there, all over the net, the television and even in schools, that’s right schools supporting these type of money making schemes.  Recently there was a story about a Maths Tuition Program on 60 Minutes (An Australian current affair show) and how it’s doing good for children at this one school and how to contact the makers of the software and basically sweat talking it to make it sound better than it really is. 60 Minutes is a show broadcast all over Australia and is viewed by many people, This is what they use to their advantage and advertise with them, A lot of parents with children watch this show, so hey, let’s advertise! One of my friend’s parents actually watched that show and bought that exact same software advertised on 60 Minutes. They we’re asking 5 grand (AUD) for this piece of software which is meant to do wonders for your children. She decided to buy it and they we’re there ready to install it in a day. She fell for the bait and regretted ever buying it 2 days later. They tried to get their money back but they refused to even though there was a supposed 30 day money-back guarantee on it.  Is this enough evidence for you to not buy into one of these scams? 2.       The Program Itself, Quick job scripting.

When I personally bought a copy of one of the math’s tuition programs which was highly talked about in my area, I expected something very elite something better than anything I’ve seen before, Design wise and user compatibility wise, I was paying 5 grand for it and that was my expectations and ideas of what it would be like, I was wrong.

When the software was installed on my computer I was the first to use it, I was shocked at how bad it was presented, Come on honestly, Microsoft Publisher ClipArt Images, Black and White Poorly built interface, I could have done something ten times better than what I got there. It was very basic also, there was nothing challenging and some of the maths problems seemed to come up more than once in a few instances, it was like one of those rubbish 2 dollar electronic hangman games you buy from the 2 dollar shop. This was another large letdown to me.

3.       How Are My Children Going To Get A Head Start In School When I Can’t Be With Them All The Time.

There’s one very simple answer to this, Be with them as much time as possible and be doing activities and puzzles together, anything which is going to help your children in the future is a good thing. If it means sacrificing half an hour of your time every day and spending that time with your kids it will not only help them at school, because you’re doing educational activities with them, but your growing a stronger relationship and bond with your child which you cannot buy with money.

If your child constantly uses a maths program on your computer I would stop them from doing it and remove the software from your computer, Your Childs growing a stronger relationship with a computer than you are with your child.
