It is easy to resize photos and images even if you do not own a graphics program. It does not cost anything at all, and there’s no need to download anything. With just a few clicks it’s done!
Do you have high resolution images or photos that you need to shrink in size to place them on the web?
Do you want to attach an image or picture in your online article and want to know how to resize it first?
This article shows you how to quickly resize your image.
If you do not have a graphics software or program, no worries! Log on into Picnik.com. It’s free to use, there is no registration required, and there is no need to download any software into your computer. It is very user-friendly. You can use it to quickly resize your images at any time, from any computer with internet connection.
Step # 1
Click “upload photo” and locate the image from your computer. You can also open your upload your images from Flickr, MySpace, Picasa Web Album, Facebook, Webshots or Photobucket.

Step #2
Click the “resize” button.

Step #3
Type in your new desired dimension. I normally use 640 x 480, which is more than sufficient for the web.

Step #4
Save your image.

Be sure not to override the original image. When I save resized images, I name them with the same name but put the word “resized” in the end. I do this so that I will know the original name has the original high resolution size, and the name with “resized” is the lower resolution image. So for example if my original image is named “garden.jpg”, after I resize I will name it “garden – resized.jpg”. Name your images clearly in order to distinguish which ones are original and which ones have been edited. You can also create separate folders in your drive if you prefer.
