Gimp 2.8: The New Features

The new feaures of Gimp 2.8.

Currently 2.6 is the stable version of Gimp, the manipulator and editor free software, available for Windows, Mac and GNU / Linux. From the official website has already announced that the first edition is available from the branch 2.7, opening the way towards developing the next release numbered 2.8.

There is already a list with a lot of improvements planned for the new version:

 -Brushes: brushes rotations, change the aspect ratio and tilt angle. The user can assign tags to the brushes to make searching faster for them.

- Texts: finally text editing features from within the editing window of the image, without requiring an additional window. Moreover, added the option to “Text to Path” from the context menu to easily incorporate the text entered in the form of a path already laid.

-Calculations of sizes in the scaling of images, will introduce math to scale the photos.

-The layer modes are grouped by type in the dropdown menu to find them more easily.

-To save pictures in JPG / PNG now required to use the new option of “Export”, so “Save” will save only the documents themselves in Gimp’s native XCF format.

-Improved graphical interface and the behavior of windows.
