HOW to Install Windows on MAC

In this article, i am going to show you all the ways to install windows on any type of Mac you are using. Now, installing windows operating system on Mac has been an easy and simple task to perform. I am going to show you everything from the scratch to where you want me to end. So feel free and read this useful article.

When i got my first Macintosh computer, it was Powerbook G4, I went straight, open my CD bag and brought out all my favorite games i used to play on my windows PC. I insected the disc into my machine and got this awful message, “ This program cannot run in DOS mode”. I tried and tried but to no avail. I then went to search engines and found out that Mac does not work that way. It is impossible to run windows program directly on Mac. I really went crazy.

But as at now, i have all my windows applications on my Mac and enjoying life. Having windows on Mac is indeed an awesome experience. So i am here to help you to also install windows on your Mac with ease. So without further ado, let me move straight to the point.

Basically, there are two ways to install windows operating system on your Mac. We have the BootCamp method and the Virtualization method.

If your OS X includes BootCamp which is from Apple, the you can install windows on your Mac. You can choose any version of windows such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 etc. to install on your Mac. Virtualization is all about software from third parties. Virtualization software allow you to install windows on your Mac and use both at the same time. But one disadvantage of using these software is the speed. Windows will not run normal on Mac when using Virtualization software. The speed is going to be decrease but it depends on the software you are going to use.

The three leading Virtualization software are Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion and Virtual Box. Unfortunately these three software are not free. Whiles others like Q, Bochs are free to use.

Now that you know the two best methods of installing windows operating system on your Mac, you can now decide the method you want to use to install windows on your Mac.

But mind you, BootCamp can be used on only intel-based Macs not PPC(PowerPC). So check your Machine information and see the type of processor your Mac is using. You check this by clicking on the apple Menu and selecting, “About this Mac”.

If you have PowerPC(PPC) then you can’t use BootCamp and you have to use Virtualization Software.
