Dia is an open source program that is comparable to the Microsoft’s Visio program. Dia was released to the public in 2007. The program is useful for creating a variety of different diagrams and shapes. Dia is a highly useful a piece of software when creating flow charts, UML, and networking diagrams. Shapes can be imported, created, and modified using the program. In addition to simply creating a diagrams, Dia is also able to export the diagrams into a variety of different formats to include EPS, PNG, and SVG. The program is free of charge for public use. It can be download for free from the Dia website at http://directory.fsf.org/project/dia/.
