A beginner’s guide on the press pull tool in AutoCAD 2007.
AutoCAD Tutorial 5 – Press pull tool
The press pull tool is a really useful tool and is closely related to the extrude tool. Like the extrude tool, it can modify the height of a 2D object, but the press pull tool can modify any face of an object.
In this example, I have a box as shown:

I want to make the box bigger but I don’t want to draw it again, this is a job for the press pull tool:

I want to make the box longer, so I select the press pull tool OR type in “presspull” and I go over the face that I want to modify:

Now I can click and specify how much I want it to be modified:

Finished product:

Oh dear I’ve made it too long. To fix this, we can once again use the press pull tool, but instead of going outwards, we are going INWARDS:

Finished product:

Another neat thing about the press pull tool is that it can modified closed objects. In this example, I have drawn a series of 2D lines like so:

Using the press pull tool, I can raise each of them, even though they are not joined together:

Finished product:

With the press pull tool the possibilities are endless.
