On 12.06.16, In Rant time I think. I have tried to keep positive and not dwell on negative things that annoy me but they just keep on coming back and annoying me. Then others contact me and communicate about these same annoyances only compounding the problem.
So, what are my annoyances for the day? They are Webupon.com and Writinghood.com. These two sites are old and tend to be down a lot with the dreaded ‘500 – Internal Server Error’ screen of death. So, why does that annoy me? It’s not because they are down, but because they will show me an article and when I try and post a comment, they give the error. Perhaps the database servers are down for these sites, but once I trigger the error then I can’t even get the page to load.
In addition, because of these errors I sometimes post message 10 times and feel like a goof. This makes me cautious about detailed comments that get lost to the parsed string villain. My message gets redisplayed with commas parsed. When I type that’s it redisplays as that’s, etc…
OK, while I am at it. Webupon.com does not display the description. I don’t like posting the same description that is in my article so I lose that content. On top of that, I don’t want my articles on webupon.com because of this but I don’t have a lot of control on this issue. I can request for relocation but I am lazy.

It’s good to have a rant. Having returned to Triond after an absence because of work some bits seem to have got better but like you I am finding some similar issues. I think it is good that these are aired and debated. Like you, it looks less professional when comments are parsed when you do not want them to be. Well said!

I can understand your rant! I gnash my teeth quite alot over such misups with these sites!
Great rant… and another thing, on webupon the only way to leave a comment is through facebook… I hate that.
The web has amind of it’s own.
