Advantages and Disadvantages Peer to Peer and Client Server

Advantages and Disadvantages Peer to Peer and Client Server.

It’s not only learned about a network. Moreover, many different types of network. But the need for know the advantages and disadvantages.
Network: network (network) is a collection of two or more systems
a connected computer. There are many types of computer networks:
A. Local Area Network (LAN)
Computers that are connected are in place adjacent
   in gografis (eg a building).
B. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), basically a version of
LAN larger and typically use the same technology with a LAN.    MAN could include offices adjacent companies, or also a city
and can be used for private purposes (private) or public. MAN    is able to support data and voice, even to associated with   cable television network.C. Wide Area Network (WAN)
Wide Area Network (WAN), its scope covers the area   geographical area, often covering a country even continent.     WAN consists of a collection of machines aimed at to run the   programs (applications) user.D. Internet
Actually there are many in this world networks, often    use hardware and software different.    People who connect to the network often wish to be    communicate with others who connect to the network other.    This desire requires the relationship between networks
which is often not kampatibel and different. Usually for
doing this necessary a engines called gateway in order   to make connections and carry out translatio required, both   hardware and software. A collection of interconnected    networks is called Internet.
E. Network Without Cable
Wireless network is a solution to the communication that can   not be done by using a cable network.
For example, people who want to get information or conduct
communication despite being on top of a car or plane, it is    absolutely necessary because the network without wires
cable connection is not possible to be made in the car or      plane. Currently, wireless networks have rapidly adopted by
use of satellite services and can provide access speeds      faster than the network that uses cable. are far apart    and connected by phone line or radio waves.
In addition, computer networks can also be classified based on criteria below:
a. topology: connectivity setup between computer systems.    There a variety of topologies such as bus, star, and ring.
b. protocol: the protocol defines a group of rules and signals
is used by computers on the network to communicate. Protocol
The most popular LAN is Ethernet. Another widely LAN Protocol
used is the IBM token-ring network.
c. architecture: network architecture can be classified into a    peer-topeer or client / server.
Discussion on Advantages and Disadvantages Peer To Peer and  Client Servers
In a network architecture, the need for a computer
appointed full-time servers, while others (such as
user workstations) into a full-time client. For example a
file servers to house the hard driver that contains all the files from each network user and can be accessed from
personal computer users. After working on the file, the user can save the changes and adding files to the network.
Another example of a server will be set as “Post Office” for
spread all Network Client.
Peer to Peer and Client Server has its advantages and shortcomings. On balance, however, more client-server configuration both from the peer to peer, especially in small business environment where there is hope for the development and growth.
A. Client server network
In this network a single computer to function as a center
service (server) and other computer work request
services (clients). As the name implies, client server
means the division of labor between the client data management
and servers. Currently, most networks use model of client / server.
B. Peer to Peer Network
In this network there is no computer that serves a special,
and all the computers can function as a client and server
in the same time. Each user computer resources is responsible for the administration computers (by creating a user name, create a share, marks the permission to access these shares.) Each user
also responsible for knowing the backup data on computer. Unfortunately the placement of resources can be difficult in peer to peer network that has more computer.
File Server: A computer that is usually higher than the workstation, is used as file storage and file accessed by the user workstation.

Excess peer to peer

  • Implementation is not too expensive, relatively cheap.
  • Does not require server software NOS (Network Operating System).
  • Does not require administrator reliable network.

loss of peer to peer

  • Not suitable for large-scale network, the administration became uncontrollable.
  • Each user must be trained to perform administrative tasks.
  • Less security.
  • All machines are sharing resources does not affect performance.

Excess client server

  • Provide better security.
  • It’s easier if the network settings is large because the administration at the central right.
  • All data can be backed up at one central location.

loss of client server

  • NOS software requires an expensive example: NT or server Windows 2000, XP, Novell, UNIX.
  • Requires a higher hardware and expensive for the server machine.
  • Requires a professional administrator.
  • Having a weak point if you use one server, the user data into nothing if the server is dead.
