On Vanadiel, three major cities battle week after week to be the greatest, the proudest and the most successful.
Today, as my roomie was seated at the computer, I heard evil laughter. “Oh, Mike is gonna have a hard time living this down!” I heard.
My room mate’s Final Fantasy XI linkshell love to play jokes on each other, so I was braced for the latest mayhem. An astonishing sight met my eye as I turned to see what was so funny. A crowd of people had collected at the Bastokian Outpost. As I watched, Chocobos came running up, divesting riders who, post haste, ran to the out-post attendant.
It seems that on Bahamat server, in the imaginary land of Vanadiel, Bastok was having a bad day. When a region has minimal influence, other areas take over their out-posts. One of the out post services is warping player-characters to connected out-posts to which the player has connected.
The catch? Players must be able to get the supply quest for an out-post before using it. Supply quests are only available when a region is under a particular city’s rule. To lose its nearest outpost, Bastok was indeed having a bad day.

Guess my room mate’s linkshell buddy is gonna catch a lot of ribbing this week!

Interesting.
Daisy, I don’t know a thing about these games but it does sound interesting.
Part of the fun of this was the sheer number of game characters who flocked to the Outpost. I have a picture showing that–but I wanted the chocobo (large bird) running up.
