So far what I’ve seen, here are the major changes from Windows 7:
- The main User Interface has been changed from Explorer to Metro UI(Used in Windows Phone 7)
- The operating system is more touchscreen/tablet orientated
- Navigation and search is done by using “Hot Corners”
- Desktop can still be used but limited by clicking on the Desktop tile
From what I see some users may like it because it’s new and different but the majority of users will hate it just as badly as they did Windows Vista.
My opinion: I don’t like it because I’ve never been a big touch screen fan, though I don’t see businesses and companies using it as a primary operating system, unless you count tablets, but then iPads and Galaxy Tab will probably be the primary choice. Microsoft is leaning towards a “one OS fits all” approach and they may get burned by that. We’ll see in the future.
