Change your drive icon. Have a fresh look.
Every Microsoft windows user will get bored out of seeing the old icons. Have you ever tried changing drive icons. But actually changing a drive icon is as simple as changing a folder icon.
-
Copy your favorite icon file to the root of the drive. Example: “c:icon.ico”
-
Create a file called: “autorun.inf” in “C:” Drive. Example: “C:autorun.inf”
-
Edit the file by opening in a simple notepad and type the following.
[autorun]
icon=icon.ico -
Now save and close the file.
-
Now restart and open my computer or just log off once. vow! icon changed.
You can apply to other drives too.
Be clear with this following.
“autorun.inf” and “ico.ico” must be in the root of the drive. I mean same on the root.
Example: c:autorun.inf and c:icon.ico.
Enjoy, this works on Windows 98 too!
