Microsoft is market share leader of the industry. Theres no getting around that. They have the world-at-large buying into PCs for business and pleasure. Whether thats because we “grew-up” with it (‘we’ referring to the Young Adult population out there) or because, generally speaking, its much less expensive that comprable Apple alternatives. Windows recently launched Windows 7 on the heels of Apple’s OS X Snowleopard which, unlike its predecessor Windows Vista, has fallen upon more favorable critism. It would appear that Windows 7 is increasing in populatiry, as just yesterday CNET released this interesting article talking about how the market share has reached 10 percent of the computers accessing the internet. Prior to the release of Windows 7, Microsoft still held a 92% market share across the board…

Marketing Matters!

Apple, by-and-far, takes the cake when it comes to marketing. With the so-called “reboot” of their franchise in the late 1990′s and the trend appeal they’ve saturated themselves with in the last 5 years, it’s the hipper company. People will argue that because Apple makes its own system parts (aside from the deal with Intel) that it is more capable of the awe-inspiring synergy not found in Windows. There is some truth to that too. Apple has this aura of brevity. Everything “just works”. Its a simple idea and its execution, in our experience, is flawless.

Final Thoughts

Macs, while overpriced for what it does, has the sex appeal. PCs, while littered with bugs and blue screens of death, does have the versatility and market share. I don’t think we can call this one. And really, it has nothing to do with fear of reprisal in the comments. Honest answer

Mac vs.. Pc

We have people who think Mac is better than PC, and the other way around. Lets compare.

 COST

The first thing that most people look at is cost. You want to get the Most for your money. Mac computers in my opinion, are outragiously priced, for not much more quality than a PC. If you shop smart you can find an excellent PC for the fraction of a Mac. PC computers are a bit more friendlier to the market and customers, in other words, it won’t hurt your wallet so much!

MEMORY

Memory is a large concept when dealing with computers. You need to find a computer that does the job, and does it well. Most PCs have anywhere from 2GB to 8GB of RAM in most labtops and desktops. On the other hand Macs usally only have 1GB to 4GB of RAM (standard models). While granted you can always buy an external hardrive, assuming your computer is capable of using one, this will also be accounted for in the overall payment. Next, we’ll hit Hard Drive Space. Macs generally have a bit smaller hard drives when compared to PCs, this may be due to the fact that the size of the programs on a Mac are usually smaller than one of a PCs.

STABILITY

Stability is another key factor when comparing these two products. Over the years Windows PCs were known to crash more frequently and user’s often came across the famous “Blue Screen”. Though after recent redesign Windows has established a more reliable software, to lower the Blue Screen rate to nearly nothing. Also, most people almost always look directly to the fact that Macs are known to be uncapable of getting viruses, if you equipt your PC with the proper Antivirus your PC should be safe!

AVAILABILITY

Macs are exclusive to Apple. This makes purchasing them a bit more difficult. Though Apple has recently opened up many new Apple stores, where you can purchase new Apple equiptment. On the other hand, Windows is more world spread, and be easily found in almost any large retail store.

SOFTWARE

The final Mac to PC comparison is, you guessed it, Software! For the most part the two are neck and neck. Microsoft even released Microsoft Office specifically for Mac, proving Apple and Microsoft can get along! All in all, both systems support most open-source software. Software for both systems is user friendly and easy to learn.

CONCLUSION

This ties up our Mac and PC comparison! In a nutshell, the two are really both top notch modern day technology, and both have their ups and downs. If you’ve got money to spare, get a Mac, if not, PCs are a bit more cheaper for nearly the same thing. Thank you all for taking the time to read this article!
