Various techniques and instructions which will be useful to speeding up your computer.
To load the services currently your computer has
Click on StartRun Type the word “services.msc” and click on OK button.
Follow the below instruction to speed up your computer.

AdobeLM Service: Just disable it if you have it.

Alerter: Disable if you are not working on a network because you will not receive alerts.

Application Management: Set it to manual.

Automatic Updates: If you don’t require auto updating and patching of Windows please disable this option. You will save your bandwidth.

ClipBook: Disable if you are not working on a network

Computer Browser: If you don’t need to browse and monitor connected computers disable it.

Cryptographic Services: Set this to manual.

Distributed Transaction Service: Set this to manual.
-
DNS Client: If you are not working on a network, disable it.

Error Reporting Service: Disable this if you are not a Microsoft software tester.
-
Fast User Switching Compatibility: Disable it if you are the only user on your computer.

FTP Publishing: If you are not using FTP features disable this.

Help and Support: If you are an expert about the OS turn it off or set it to manual if you do not use the help feature often.

HTTP SSL: Set this to manual.

Human Interface Device Access: If you are not using hot-key features or remote system handling on your computer turn it off. Set it to manual if you use this feature.

IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service: If you have a CD writer or a DVD writer set this to manual to save memory and time. Disable this if you do not have a CD or DVD writer.

Indexing Service: If you organize your data correctly and if you know where your data is saved turn it off. This will reduce your CPU usage.

InstallDriver Table Manager: Disable this feature.

IPSEC Services: Set this to manual.

Windows Messenger: Disable this if you are not working on a network. Sometimes this will become a security threat to your system and it is using lots of memory.

MS Software Shadow Copy Provider: Set this to manual.

Net Logon: If you are not working on a network disable it.

NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing: Disable this if you are not using Remote Desktop feature.

Network Provisioning Service: If you are not in a network disable this.
-
NT LM Security Support Provider: Disable this feature.
-
NVIDIA Display Driver Service: If you are not using nVidia Desktop feature, disable this.

Office Source Engine: If you have a MS Office CD with you disable this.
-
Portable Media Serial Number Service: If you are connecting portable media to your computer set it to manual, otherwise disable it.

Print Spooler: If you are not using a printer disable it.
-
Protected Storage: If you are the only user who is using your computer disable it.
-
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager: Disable this if you don’t use Remote Desktop feature.

Remote Procedure Call Locator: Set it to manual.

Remote Registry: Disable it no matter what.
-
Removable Storage: Set it to manual if you are using removable storage drives or disable it.

Routing and Remote Access: Set it to manual.
-
Secondary Logon: Set it to manual or disable it.

Security Accounts Manager: If you are not using windows NTFS Encryption features disable it.

Security Center: Disable this

Server: If you are not on a network set it to manual or disable it

Smart Card: If you are not using smart cards on your computer disable it.

SSDP Discovery Service: If you are not using UPnP devices or not in a network disable.

Task Scheduler: Disable it if you are not scheduling tasks.

TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper: Disable it if you are not in a network or set it to manual.

Telnet: If you are a home user, disable it. If you use this feature set it to manual.

Terminal Services: If you are not using Remote Desktop facility, disable it.
-
Uninterrupted Power Supply: If you are not using a UPS, disable it.
-
Universal Plug and Play Device Host: Set it to manual.
-
User Privilege Service: Set it to manual.
-
Volume Shadow Copy: If you are not using Windows Backup or System Restore features, disable it.
-
Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS): If you computer is protected with any other firewall, then disable this. Otherwise for better security set it ON.

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) : If you are not using a camera or a scanner with your computer, disable this.
-
Windows Media Connect: If you use any media devices such as iPod etc. with your Windows Media Player enable this.
-
Windows Media Connect (WMC) Helper: If you don’t need to use help or if you disable the previous option disable this also.
-
Windows Time: If you are on a synchronized network, enable it.
-
Wireless Zero Configuration: Disable if not in a wireless network.
-
WMI Performance Adapters: For advance users only. Disable it.
-
Workstation: If you are not working in a network disable this.
