Here’s a tutorial on how to cover your tracks from within your computer using Windows Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox coming soon.
To begin procedures do this. If you do not have a google account you can skip down to step 2.
Step 1
First you want to delete your history of visited sites. Google, if you have an account tracks all the sites you’ve been to for your convenience but this can easily be used against you. What you want to do if you have an account with them is to go to their home page and then click on the ”My Account” in the top right hand corner if you are signed into it.

This will bring you to your account options.

Now you want to click Web History. It is in the middle on the last row on the page.
You’ll need to enter your password when asked and then you’ll reach a page just like this one. As you can see I’ve paused my web history and deleted it all not because I have been looking at bad things, I just don’t want people to know where I’ve been. If you get a yellow bar at the top telling you that it’s preventing popups simply allow popups for a short time and continue.

*Note* If you cannot see any of the images the caption of this one says that clicking the Enable We History and Install Toolbar will not install the toolbar if you are running Vista. Clicking it on a machine running XP may come up with a popup asking you to install but you just have to cancel out of it.
Now all you have to do is Pause your Web History and Delete Items.

So now that you have your Google Web History Deleted we move on to step 2.
Step 2
Your computer has an annoying way of storing information you don’t want stored so here’s what you do now. Download a free program like Spybot Search and Destroy from Download.com
This will find all tracking cookies and delete them.
WINDOWS EXPLORER ONLY (Mozilla Firefox Coming Soon)
If you are running Windows Vista this is a Simple way to delete all of your web browsing history. This is by far the most effective way.
*Note* If you want to just delete certain items just go and click the Yellow star without a green plus sign next to it. This will take you to your favorites and history. Simply click History to find all the sites you have been to. You can delete individual files but you won’t be able to delete the downloaded pictures and cookies from that site.

Now you want to go and click Tools on the very right hand side of Windows Explorer. This will come up with a drop down menu. You want to go to the very last option that says “Internet Options” and then in the Browsing History section you need to click the button that says Delete… or you can simply go to the first option in the drop down menu “Delete Browsing History”.
Here are a couple snapshots in order of what you can do.
Way 1

*Note* you have the option of deleting files and settings stored by add-ons which gets rid of saved passwords and settings to sites like Facebook, Ogame, and aanything that asks if you want it to remember your password. This can prevent people from getting on to your computer and accessing your personal information on these websites. This is optional.
Way 2

You have successfully Deleted Your Web History.
Final Directions *Optional*
As I have found out, your web routers can store from 15 pages to 100 pages of web history. Here is a little batch file I created to completely confuse this. How it works is by opening different web pages that most people would go to. Here’s the instructions. Just copy and paste and save as (your name) .bat
It is absolutely important that that you put the .bat right after your name to make this program work!!!
Then save to your desktop.
start www.google.com

taskkill /f /im iexplore.exe

exit
Do not click any of the links as they will direct you to that page. Also you can change the Timeout to any amount of time you want.
*Example- timeout /T 7 or timeout /T 10
This will countdown the amount of time to the next command.
This should thus get rid of any previous web pages and then you should be safe for some time. Unfortunatly Internet providers also keep a complete web history of every single IP address in the world. It is illegal not to do so. To counteract this go to http://g-proxy.com/
This will put you under a proxy server and you can surf the web without having to worry about your actions being logged by the Internet Provider. At least that’s what I’m told.
