Confused? What is ram? Why do we need it, and how much do we need of it?

A) Ram is the “memory all your applications run on” in simple terms,
Q)I thought that was harddrive?
A) No, The harddrive is where you keep the application most rams can only hold up to 4 Gb higher end ram can go touch 24 gb.
Q) Why do we need ram?
A) Without ram, none of your programs would run. With ram your programs run smoother with less chance of a crash.
Q) How much ram is needed?
A) This all depends on what you use your computer for, If you use your computer to write on microsoft word, watch videos on youtube, and play snake online then you will need no more than 3 gb of ram considering you would probably be using Windows vista/7
Q) I am a super computer geek how much do I need?
A) Every once in a while I meet a person like myself :p, I use photoshop, have extensive game library, run multiple virtual operating systems yet I barely make a dent in 12 Gb of ram, so I suggest you never buy over 12gb of ram because it is just OverKill and will actually cause your pc to go slower as the rest will just be idle all day everyday.
