How to welcome your guests to use your computer using the “hidden” account.
Your having a friend over or if you want to have an account on your computer with a very controlled access then you may want to try activating the guest account on your computer. All versions of windows has the guest account feature built in. They are most commonly accessed by hitting the Esc (Backspace) button on you keyboard.
In Windows XP/Vista the welcome screen was introduced to make selecting a user account easier and more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. However, with the feature the default setting for the guest account was set to off.
To activate the guest account go to User Accounts. From there select the guest account to turn it on. After approving the activation conformation the guest account feature should be activated the next time you long on to your computer.
There are many other features to Windows XP/Vista that existed in past generations. With each new generation these are improved and made more accessible.
