Windows Eight – The New Version

Microsoft Windows are a series of OS (operating systems) developed by Microsoft for use on PC (personal computers). First OS “Windows 1.0″ was launched in 1985, since then Microsoft is launching different versions with newest features.

 Development of Windows 8 was started in 2009 before the release of Windows 7 and was set to expire on 11 March 2012, but it was postponed to 15 January 2013.

Windows 8 add support for ARM microprocessors in addition to the x86 microprocessors from Intel, AMD and VIA. Triggering Start screen still depends by clicking Start at the bottom-left corner of the screen; however this is first time when start button is not present on the taskbar.

Along with traditional mouse and keyboard input, Windows 8 have a new feature that is designed to better suit touch-screen input based on Microsoft’s Metro design language that is similar to Windows Phone. However touch enabled hardware is required to use touch input features.

Microsoft has strong security features in Windows 8. 

Family Safety allows Parents to monitor and control the PC and Internet activities of their children.

To strengthen the online Safety, Microsoft’s freeware security program “Windows Defender” has combined with similar capabilities of “Microsoft Security Essentials” to function as the default anti-virus program.

Secure boot now prevent unauthorized firmware, operating systems, or UEFI drivers from running at boot time. However this is not good for those who are willing to use Linux with Windows 8.
