How to get the new 3.0 firmware onto your iPod touch or iPhone for free.
OK so you want the new 3.0 firmware on your ipod touch/ iphone but don’t want to pay $13 (rip off) wells here how you can….
NOTE: before you start please backup your ipod (right click on your ipod and left click backup)
- First off you need to download the firmware from http://felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ (make sure u download from FIRE FOX not safari!!!!) SAFARI will stuff up the file.
- Once you have that plug your ipod touch or iphone into your computer.
- Put ipod into DFU mode (hold power and home button until the apple appears then let go of the power button and keep holding the home button for 6 secs.)
- OK now go into itunes if it hasn’t come up already and go to your ipod.
- Hold down option and click restore.
- Find the firmware you have downloaded and choose it it.
- now wait for your ipod to reboot and you will have the new firmware installed on your ipod for free =].
