Just how fast is Windows 8? Windows eight is the next version of Windows, the popular operating system developed by Microsoft.
Just how fast is Windows 8 compared to it’s popular predecessor Windows 7? Well, according to a study done by PCMag, Windows 8 is in fact considerably faster than Windows 7. Although I myself find the new Metro interface quite ridiculous as I am a power user, this speed boost is a compelling reason to upgrade. The major advantage that Windows 8 has over Windows 7 speed wise is start-up time. At 17 seconds, Windows 8 is considerably faster to boot up than Windows 7 which is at 38 seconds (averaged). Shutdown time is also improved in Windows 8 and that’s welcome news too. Windows 8 falls short of file moving but the difference is minuscule so its no big deal overall.
