PSU- A PSU stands for Power Supply Unit. This is what give the electricity or power for the components to work or switch on. (For those of you who don’t know what a component is the individual equipment inside which has its own unique purpose)

Case Fan And CPU Fan- Self Explanatory, cools down the inside of the case. The CPU fan is stuck directly on top of the CPU because the CPU gets very hot.

  • Motherboard- This is a large electrical and complex component which is basically the body of the computer. All the smaller components eg. Hard Drive, Optical Disks, Processors etc. Go into and the Motherboard Links all the Components together and sends data to or from each one.
  • Processor (CPU)- CPU stands for Computer Processing Unit or Processor for short. The Processor is basically the brain of the computer. It executes computer programmes and applications.
  • RAM Memory- RAM standing for Random Access Memory is a small temporary form a data storage which can be accessed at any time.
  • Hard Drive(s)- This is the main data storage component which isn’t temporary. It stores large amounts of data and reads or writes data by spinning a magnetic or optical disk. You can have more than one hard drive.
  • Graphics Card- A Graphics Card is what produces a display on the monitor(computer screen)its also known as a graphics accelerator or video card is an expansion card to display an output display. The more powerful your graphics card is means the faster the computer generates a display, so for people who use their PC for gaming usually have a powerful graphics card to produce better game graphics and detail.
  • Optical Drive(s)- An Optical Drive is a DVD/CD/Blu-Ray reader or writer or even both. You can have more than one optical drive.

So these are the components of which make a computer. Hope you enjoyed reading.
