Lately I have been having a lot of issues with my laptop and my internet. Because of that I had to resort to leaving my home and using the WiFi at McDonalds. Taking the bus and worrying about weather conditions wouldn’t be my first choice, early in the morning but since work had to be done, off I went.
I should add this is the second day, this week that I have taken the trek to McDonald’s and I have to say I’m not getting much work done. Why, you wonder?? Well, let me tell you what goes on in the early hours at one of our local McD’s.
My local McDonald’s has become a meeting place for a lot of the seniors in my area and they are a wonderful bunch of people. The fact that the coffee is free this week (you only pay the tax) might account for it being busier than normal but somehow I doubt it…It seems, these people meet every morning around the same time, for coffee, chit chat and laughter. They kid with one another, get a little fiesty with some of the women in the group and truly have a great time.
And then, in I walk with my laptop and a free coffee. I grab the only available seat, which is right in the midst of all these friendly people. And that’s when the comments begin…” What are you watching on there? Is your picture better than the televisions? You’re not watching anything naughty, are you? How the heck do you type so fast?” It really is hilarious to listen to them and have a little bit of fun. And it seems I have been welcomed into this fun loving group which is a hoot.
So tomorrow, I will once again catch the bus and head out to McDonalds to do some work. Well, lets just say, I will bring my laptop because I wouldn’t want to deny them the fun they have with it. As for work, I doubt much will get done but I’m sure I will start my day off with a lot of laughter.
This must be a a favorite of seniors. My Mom has her little group that meet once or twice a week too. Thank you for making me smile.

Sounds like you had fun. McDonald’s should start the free coffee thingy here. Anyway, now that you’ve mentioned McDonald’s I can’t stop myself this weekend from a munch spree. Thanks for the share.
Actually the McDonald’s here in Ontario do the ‘free coffee’ quite a bit. It was fun and I even resisted the goodies. Thanks for commenting:)
I understand, I used to live near a restaurant that was a meeting place for the town politicians. Working there would have been nigh impossible.
Daddy had a group of friends that meets everyday there, He went once or twice. He did not do much association with friends, he liked his family better
