The USB Implementers Forum ( USB-IF) officially presented the technical specifications of the version 3.0 of the USB, also conscript SuperSpeed USB, new generation of the main standard of connections of the computing ring roads(peripherals).
According to Intel, in the head of his committee of creation, the transfer of data in USB 3.0 can be until ten times as successful as the current USB 2.0, that is 4,8 Gigabits per second (more than 600 Mo/s). A debit achieves in particular by using the fiber optics(optical fiber) as a supplement to the copper classic connections. This technology is also presented as more thrifty in resources.
Beside Intel, the technical specifications were drafted by Microsoft, HP, Texas Instruments, NEC and NXP Semiconductors, within the consortium USB-IF.
It will however be necessary to wait for the end of 2009 for the arrival on the market of the first computers USB 3.0, and on 2010 for the other products and the ring roads(the peripherals) – external hard disks, cameras, …
