The iPod and iPhone, The Most Popular Device in The 21st Century

Is it really that epic of an electronic device?

Walk around the school, college campus, or even streets and you at least see 1 earphones dangling out of someone`s ear, 8/10 chances the device that played the music, is an iphone or an ipod. You may think that the ipod or the iphone is really great and epic, since everybody have it, but once you get to know it, it really is not that epic. The following are the cons of both device:
Battery:

If you have the Ipod touch or the iphone, you may notice that it will only take about 8 hours of playing movies or 16 hours of playing 2d games, or 5 hours of playing 3d games, for the battery to empty out completely. Even though that 16 hours of playing games or 8 hours of watching movies seems like a long time for you, it really is not, a plane ride from new york to california, will empty out its battery or at least bring it down to the 20% bar, a plane ride from los angeles to london will empty out its battery completely. A plane ride from los angeles to australia, will empty our its battery completely during the first half of the plane ride. Pretty short right? There is however a way to maximize its battery life, you can get all the info you need here:

Itunes:

Itunes, as great as it is, could creare a pretty big problem too. For example, sometimes when you buy a movie straight from itunes from your computer, you won`t be able to sync it into your ipod touch or iphone. SOMETIMES, im not saying everytime. Another example, when you transfer purchases from your ipod to your itunes, the sync process could freeze, resulting in more unwanted gigabytes in your “others” bar, which is a bar where itunes put something they can`t recognize that is in your ipod/iphone.

Jailbreaking:

The temptation of jailbreaking is sometimes just too hard to resist, when you have the ipod or the iphone, “what could go wrong?”, “nothing will happen”, “apps are too expensive”.etc. The idea of getting something free, are too great to resist. Jailbreaking can sometimes be a good thing, When you know what you are DOING!, if you do not know what you are doing, and messed up, the following things could happen:

-Broken device (will be unfixable, plus jailbreaking voids any warranty whatsoever, broken forever)

-Ipod/Iphone won`t turn on(can be fixed, but require a lot of money)

-Broken features (backlight, ability for screen to brighten, camera, most of the time back flash light broken, like what happen to mine)

-Frozen Screen(rarely happen, but sometimes screen freeze during the jailbreaking process, ipod touch/iphone cannot be turned off and is broken)

If you did successfully jailbreak it, but later in the future wanted to unjailbreak it, and restore it to it`s factory setting for some reason, then its easy, all you have to do is click restore, wait 10 mins-2 hours and then BOOM, error message -3129. Yup, sometimes an error could be fixed, sometimes it can`t. So good luck with that.

The cons of an ipod touch/iphone maybe a lot, but its pros are a lot too. The following are some examples of the pros of both device:

Portable DVD:

Having an ipod touch/iphone is like having a portable dvd, with you everywhere you go, with the latest movies available in the itunes store for $10-$15, NEVER BUY THE HD VERSIONS OF ANY MOVIE!!!, it took up double the space of an SD movie, and the quality of both SD and HD is almost the same, except when viewed from computer through itunes. Too expensive? then download this app called VIGGLE, that gives you rewards, for watching tv and checking in into shows, I have earned over $80 worth of itunes gift card over this app in 2 weeks.

Gaming Console:

Portable, of course, having an ipod touch/iphone beats having any portable gaming consoles out there, except if you are a pokemon fan, since it is only available in nintendo ds and wii. The app store, consist of many popular games out there, even xbox 360 games and ps3 games like the infamous BLACK OPS ZOMBIES to the equally infamous phone app ANGRY BIRDS. By the way, if you are getting an ipod touch or an iphone, make sure you buy a $10 gift card as a starter kit, you do not want to miss game like ANGRY BIRDS SPACE, especially, ANGRY BIRDS SPACE!!

Smaller version of Laptop:

The ipod touch/iphone is like a smaller version of a laptop, with all its features and everything, with the exception of a few games and programs. Did I mention TOUCH SCREEN? Both device have microsoft office programs like words and publisher available through the app store, and you can browse the internet like you are browsing on a laptop, the typing took some time to get used to, but once you get use to it. TYPE AWAY

Online multiplayer, and messaging friends:

Playing games alone on the Ipod touch or Iphone is great enough, but online multiplayer is even better, through game center, you will be able to play online with other people who have the game and played the game at the same time you do. It`s just like a portable version of xbox live or playstation network. Also, you can message friends through message or any other messaging apps like yahoo messenger, that is available for free in the app store. (Did I mention that if your teacher use the app SOCRATIVE, to take tests, you can cheat by taking screenshots of the question by clicking the power button and home button at the same time? now once you did that, go somewhere private, write down the answer, and give it to one of your friends, im sure they`ll appreciate it and will help you in return ;0)

To sum up, in a scale from 1-10, i gave the ipod touch and iphone an 8, but that`s my opinion……………
