Dust Bunnies Living in My Laptop

Those pesky rabbits found their way inside my laptop.

Like most of you I use my laptop on a daily basis. Not only for work but also to write my articles and keep in touch with friends and family.

Well, last week I was in the middle of promoting one of my article and my laptop just shut itself off. I tried turning it back on but after a couple minutes off it went again. It seemed to have a mind of its own and it was making me a bit crazy.

Now I am very fluent in knowing the ins and outs when I am on-line but taking care of a laptop I really thought was a no brainer. You know when the screen and keys gets dirty wipe them off. I never thought there was anything else I should do, but….

I know better now. After not having any progress with getting my magical mechanical machine to keep running I sent it off to the computer Doctor in hopes he would have better luck at finding out what was the problem.

It did not take him long, he found the problem right away, there were 1 inch dust bunnies living inside my laptop. They had snuggled themselves right beside all the electrical buttons and switches and was making my laptop unhappy and run hot. Those pesky rabbits had made their home inside this cozy place and had destroyed it!

The computer Doctor thinks those bunnies burned out my processor and now I have one less laptop. To be honest I am lost without it, but a friend let me borrow his until mine is repaired or replaced.

I guess I have learned one costly lesson in this adventure with those bunnies…

These bunnies do not just live under your bed but where ever they can find. I also learned the hard way that computer maintenance is more than cleaning the screen and the keys but you also have to take the case off the computer and be sure nothing had made its home where they are not supposed to.

C net has some great info on how to clean your laptop which from now on I will be doing.

So take my advice if your computer is running hot and just turns itself off….I bet you have bunnies hiding inside your computer too!
