Do you want a hard drive? Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself.
When you think of buying a external/portable hard drive. There are a lot of questions you need to ask yourself.
What IS a external/portable hard drive?
I’m pretty sure you’ve probably heard of a hard drive. Its in your PC and it holds all of your info, files, images/video, etc. Those ones are IN your PC. An external/portable hard drive are seperate, they’re NOT IN your PC. They are also easier to carry around since they’re NOT IN your PC, hence the name external/portable hard drive. Also, when a external hard drive is called a portable hard drive, it is usually much, much lighter.
Here are the questions:
Do I really need one?
If you already have, say 30GB on your PC’s hard drive left, you don’t really need one as much. Wait until you get about 15GB or less.
How much space do I need?
Your external hard drive ranges from 100GB-1000GB(1TB). If you won’t really be needing as much space get a 100GB or less hard drive. But if you download a lot of large files as big as 1GB, you’re better off with a hard drive with 500GB or more space.
What is the price?
You need to think about the price. Can you really afford it? You can get it for $100-$400, really depends where you buy it and how much space it has in it.
Where can I buy it?
You can probably buy it at your local computer/electronic store. Here are some places to really look at:
- Wal-mart
- Future Shop
- Your local computer store
- Your local electronics store
- Superstore
