The victory of Blu-Ray, the new format.
The war is over! and Blu-ray won.
Toshiba has decided to cease the
production of HD-DVD players due to
the drop in sales.
since Time Warner has decided to use
Blu-ray instead of HD-DVD as well,
and their movies have changed to the
new format, sales have increased in Blu-
ray players, which led to a decrease of
sales in HD-DVD players.
Toshiba has withdrawn from the battle
over the new format, the company lost
hundreds of millions due to the stop in
manufacturing the players.
In the last couple of years Sony (Blu-ray)
and Toshiba (HD-dvd) has fought on the
place for the main stream format, it
seems that since Time Warner showed
it’s support to Blu-ray, the battle is over.
A couple of weeks ago Wall-mart has
decided to sell ONLY movies that are in
the format of Blu-ray.
Not so long ago Netflix, BlockBuster
and BestBuy have decided to cease HD
-DVD movie rental.
