Want to be able to run homebrew apps, games, music, and videos on your Nintendo DS or DSi? [UPDATED: 7/15/09]
First off you need to buy a “back-up unit”.
A back up unit is used as an adapter, so you may access your media on a Mini SD card. I recommend buying a back-up unit from this website:

If you don’t have alot of cash, I recommend getting the R4DS SDHC w/ 2GB MicroSD Card
Once you have ordered your back-up unit, ConsoleSource.com will send you a tracking number
to track your order. Once you have recieved your order, simply open up the package and insert the MicroSD card into the USB card reader and insert it onto your computer.
Once your computer installs the device you will have to download the latest firmware. To download the newest R4 firmware just go to www.r4ds.com scroll down to the bottom, and download the newest kernal (most likely v1.18) Once it’s done downloading, simply drag the files (_system_,moonshl,_DS_MENU_,etc.) onto your MicroSD card.
After you’ve done that, your all set!
