Captchas are challenge response tests used in computing to ensure response is done by a human. Why do they make them so hard then? Unfortunately theres no way I know of to get around captchas. All I know is that some of them are way to hard. Here is a few of the hardest that people have crossed paths with.

CAPTCHA is a contrived acronym for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart”. In my opinion, i think that the people who invented them could have made an easier way. The first captchas were made in the early nineties and since then more and more websites use them to tell humans apart from computers. many captchas are used and deployed to protect systems vulnerable to e-mail spam, such as the webmail services of Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo! Mail. Because CAPTCHAs rely on visual perception, users unable to view a CAPTCHA will be unable to perform the task protected by a CAPTCHA. that means they needed a new way for allowing sites to implement CAPTCHAs. This new implemented feature is audio, which is in my opinion alot easier.
okay now that you know what they are, which I’m sure you do, here is a few of the hardest ones that people have experienced. see if you can solve them!

I am one of those people who hate CAPTCHA. But you have explained its usage nicely. Well done.
Monica.
Agreed. I have trouble reading them when they look so distorted. Good article.;)
Captchas really irritates me and nowadays they are everywhere.
great article, enjoyed reading it. not though Captchas.
Awesome article, about something that makes me nutz!
They have over timeg gotten somewhat easier thou.
A short but very nice article. The CAPTCHAs are a bit feindishly difficult sometimes and like the examples you gave, sometimes you can’t even figure out if there are any letters or not! Really good work, I like some of your other stuff too, I was just taking a look at your profile and your writing style seems just the sort of things I’d want to read!
yes they are hardest
I have come across some difficult ones myself. Great write.
Great article!!
I had absolutely no idea what these were. I have heard of them before! But, now I understand, thanks for the share!
Wow! It\’s amazing these particular CAPTCHAs ever made it past the beta stage of testing. Very interesting article.
I know they are a necessary evil, but I really hate Captchas. I often only get them on the 2nd or 3rd attempt. Very annoying,
Nice article!
Pisses me off that Accessibility s. 508 for the Handicapped ’suggests’ rather strongly that ‘background-to-foreground colors’ be a minimum of 100-points in base-16 different, preferably 120-points. -I won’t go into base-16 numbers but have to say that ‘I recognize it when I see it’ and yet, CAPTCHA throws things like this at the user that have maybe 50-points rgb difference (light-gray on gray, for example) that most people cannot see unless they are using a special setting in their browser’s chrome or shell, to ‘reveal’ these minor differences.
-CAPTCHA is going too far …it is beginning to mess with color-blind person’s access to content.
