Verizon Droid, iPhone Killer?

Will the Verizon Droid destroy the reign of the iPhone, or will the apple giant stay on store shelves and peoples’ pockets?

Verizon is the preferred cell phone carrier in the united states, and for good reason, their coverage is more than double that of AT&T and they provide much better service for their products. This fact is saddening for iPhone users and those that have been with AT&T, for a long time. The iPhone is the greatest phone I have ever owned, and I can say with confidence that  will seriously consider buying whatever new model comes out when I feel the need for a phone upgrade. The fact that the iPhone is on the lesser of the two networks makes owning the iPhone a little bit of a hassle, and although I love the phone I certainly do not love the service that it provides and I do badly wish that Verizon has bought the rights to carry the iPhone, and not AT&T.

With the introduction of the Motorola Droid Verizon might be gaining ground in the fight against the iPhone’s tyranny and domination of the market. Although the hype for the Droid has been roughly equal to that of the iPhone it is unclear how missing functions (like multi-touch sensitivity)  could affect the sales of this new “iPhone killer”. I love my iPhone dearly, but if AT&T doesn’t shape up and upgrade their coverage I will be forced to take action and switch to Verizon.

The reason why I have never bought the iPhone is very simple. AT&T sucks big time. I waited until Verizon came out with a phone similar to the iPhone and I bought it…a Droid…and I’m tickled pink that I waited for it. Love my Verizon phones and I’ll never go back to AT&T. AT&T’s commercials make me LMAO.
