Top Five Tips for a Faster Computer Without Using Software

My top five tips to having a faster computer without using software to speed it up.

Everybody wants a faster computer; waiting for applications to open can be rather boring and frustrating. There is a way to hopefully speed up your computer, and the good news is that there isn’t any software used to achieve this.

I shall start with my tips:

  • Look at all of the software you have installed on your computer and decide whether or not you need it. If you don’t, why have you still got it?

Don’t keep software that you think you may need in the future, save the link of their website as a bookmark and download if and when you need it.

  • If you like listening to music then don’t take up space on your hard drive with music simply put them of CDs or DVDs and then delete them from your computer. You can the install Spotify, this will allow you to access more music than you can think of for free. The main plus point to this software is that it streams the tracks from the internet, providing you have internet access then this software will allow you to play the music you want. It won’t store the music on you computer and it is a very small file size, the only thing is after so many tracks they play a short advert (you can pay to remove the adverts).
  •  Windows Live Sky Drive this is simply great, 25 GB of space for you to upload your files and keep them safe. You can store pictures, videos and with Office Live you can store your documents too. All this requires is that you sign up for an email account, it’s only so you can access the service.
  • Use the Disk Clean Up tool within Windows, this will scan the computer for things that aren’t needed and remove them. This will save your space because some of your hard drive will be taken up by files that are not needed. Defragmenting the hard drive as well is useful; this will make sure that all the files are all in order on your hard drive.
  • My main tip of all is to limit what you put on your computer. The less you have on your computer the more efficiently in tends to run. This is mainly because it doesn’t have that much to go through to do what you want it to do.

I hope these tips helps you get that bit more out of your computer.
