Save Your Ios 5.1.1 Shsh Blobs Using Tinyumbrella (No Jailbreak Required)

If you ever want to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 from future iOS versions then you will need to follow this tutorial to save your SHSH blobs. It is highly recommended that you do this as it will be helpful if you ever need to restore your device.

SHSH blobs are required when downgrading your iOS devices software version. If you ever want to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 from future iOS versions then you will need to follow this tutorial to save your SHSH blobs. It is highly recommended that you do this as it will be helpful if you ever need to restore your device.

For you will need the following:

  • A Mac or PC
  • A device that is compatible with iOS 5.1.1 (doesn’t need to be jailbroken or running 5.1.1)
  • TinyUmbrella (download here)

Instructions:

1. Download the TinyUmbrella install file and run it. Then open TinyUmbrella.

2. Plug in your iOS device.

3. Select your device in the right hand panel.

4. Click “Save SHSH” at the top of the TinyUmbrella window.

5. Let it save the blobs then go to the selected directory where your blobs were saved. To find this just click the “Advanced” tab then you should see the directory where your SHSH blobs are saved.

Thats it! You are done. Make sure you keep these files in a safe place where you won’t accidentally delete them. Email them to yourself if you have to, just keep them safe.
