A British man’s iPhone malfunctioned, and continued sending data on a limited plan, creating a two-month billing cycle totalling to a stunning £19,000 (some $30,400 USD), even after having the device turned off by his carrier, Orange. After Apple confirmed the device to be malfunctioning, Orange offered to reduce the fee to a capped £300, before he was able to get it waived.
Sure, you can spout whatever android malware story du jour, but it looks like this device needed no external help. Talk about the “Apple Tax”, eh?
