The easy and simple way into ripping DVDs.
Hello, my name is Buma, in this article I am going to show you how to rip your precious DVD Movies easily with a free downloadable software named Handbrake, I’m sure most of you know how to rip DVD movies, but this way is fast, simple and easy. In this article, I would be explaining in steps, and enjoy!
Step 1: Downloading Handbrake:
Connect to your internet connection, and go to this website: http://handbrake.fr/?article=download
You will see a list of downloads and you can see the ‘Windows 2000/Xp/Vista ‘download section below the Mac right? Download the GUI for windows 2000/xp/Vista, not the CLI. Once the download is finished, open/run the setup. Put it wherever you like.
Step 2: Using Handbrake:
I tried to use my print screen (PRTSC) button to show you my screen, but I can upload it to Triond for some reason. So you have to listen very carefully. Insert your DVD into your drive. Open Handbrake, and maximize the window. At the top left corner do you see ‘source’ with a movie clip sign? Click on it, you would see video file, DVD/Video TS folder, and a DVD drive at the bottom. I would prefer to use the second option, Video TS folder. It’ll open a ‘browse’ window, and look for your DVD and open it, then inside the DVD you would see video_ts, and audio_ts, select Video_TS. Now the CLI is checking for the DVD; once it’s done you go to destination, and below it is a blank space, browse and put it in your desktop (most easy) with a file name (make sure the file name doesn’t contain spaces example: Death_Race, not Death Race). Then on the right hand-side of the window, select iPod, under Universal. Go back to picture settings, and for the width and height write: 320 x 240. Then you go to the video tab. For the video codec choose: MPEG-4 (Xvid), and for Framerate (FPS) choose 29.97. Don’t change anything else. Now on the output settings, select MP4 file. Then press start, the one with a green play button next to it. This would open a CLI process, and after this DON’T CLICK ANYTHING! Don’t alt-tab or change windows or click on CLI process, as this could corrupt your movie.
Step 3: Checking
If you don’t have Media Player Classic, choose QuickTime player to play your selected movie, and if it works well, transfer it to iTunes, and into your iPod!
