Introduction

According to the Hypercam 2 manual:

“HyperCam captures the action from your Windows screen and saves it as a standard, easily edited, AVI (Audio-Video Interleaved) movie file. This format can be played under Windows, as well as the Internet, unlike other programs that use proprietary formats that may need special viewers and be difficult, if not impossible, to edit. HyperCam lets you define the precise area of the screen you want to capture, unlike MS Camcorder and others that record the entire screen.

These files can be useful as teaching tools, to demonstrate software, as a start for animation, and for many other uses. This easy to learn, flexible system will have you making your first screen movie in no time at all.”

So basically Hypercam is a screen recorder you can use for any part of the screen, as well as being able to pan (move the recorded area) around the screen if the focus shifts. It has much more features, as you can see, and can be used for anything computer-related that you can think of. You can record your video game’s best moments, and edit and publish it into a video, or do the same with something else and make a tutorial.

Seems cool, huh? Well there’s a drawback. The free, unregistered version of Hypercam 2 puts a little watermark, black text against white background, in the upper left-hand corner of any clip you record. The watermark says “Unregistered HyperCam 2″ on it and tends to get annoying, especially in Youtube videos. The full version will not change any clips you record in any way. Unfortunately, it costs $39.95 from the main website, http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/.

How to Get

So to get this beautiful software for free, follow these steps.

1. Download and install the unregistered Hypercam 2 from the main site’s download page.
2. Once you got Hypercam 2 installed, open it up. It will tell you it’s unregistered.
3. Click on the License tab. Then click the button that’s about entering a license.
4. Hypercam 2 uses a license system to activate it. When someone buys a license, the site sends the license to them, and they activate Hypercam by copying and pasting the license into the Enter license (or something like that) button in the License tab. The licenses can be used as many times as possible on any computer. Here’s a license:
