A list of five ways to enhance your computers speed and directions on how to do them.
- Removing Non-Used Items. Let’s start with the basic way to make your computer faster. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Then go through the list and uninstall programs you have downloaded and no longer use. Don’t delete things you have never heard of that may have something to do with Microsoft,Windows, or your computers safety.
- Defragmenting. To Defragment your hardrive go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter. When it opens up click on Defragment to start defragmenting your hardrive.
- Error Checking. To start Error Checking on your hardrive go to My Computer > C: Hardrive (Right Click) > Properties > Tools > Check Now. Before Clicking Start, check “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” then click Start. This will search for broken places in your hardrive and attempt to fix them.
- Disk Cleanup. To Start Disk Cleanup go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. This will go through and cleanup any broken files and make sure everything is working correctly.
- Internet Memory. If you have FireFox, to Delete your Internet Memory, Open up firefox and go to Tools > Clear Private Data. For Internet Explorer, Go to Tools > Internet Options > General > Delete Files. This will get rid of all of your information collected on your computer from viewing previous sites. Deleting this will help your computer gain more free space and speed up a little more.
