Having Problems with your PC?

I’m sure in hard times like these nobody wants to buy a new computer, but you really need a fast computer to do almost anything worthwhile. Buying a new computer is out of the question for most people because prices are just too damn high for the newer models, so why not fix up the older one you have now? Sure the shiny new cases and fancy sounding hardware may make you feel like you need a new computer but you can make almost any computer run like the brand new ones if you equip it properly. Thats what I’m doing. I have included 5 FREE and EASY ways to get the most of out your PC and clean off junk files and registry errors that bog down any PC. 1st EASY, FREE way! Routine Check of Programs.

Computers are often bogged down because most people fill their computers with loads of programs and software. The problem is that everything that you install on your computer eats up space on your hard drive leaving your computer with limited space to carry out necessary functions to run. An easy way to make PC run faster is to routinely check out what you have installed on your computer. This can easily be done by going to start-> control panel-. add or remove programs. If you haven’t used a program in the last month, you probably don’t need it. Every time I do this on my PC or others, it helps the speed of the PC a bit. 2nd EASY, FREE way! CCleaner
Ccleaner (Crap Cleaner) is an easy to use, free tool that can be downloaded here http://www.ccleaner.com/. Ccleaner is something that every PC, no matter how fast needs. It has a simple interface consisting of 4 tabs the main two that I use are the “Cleaner” and “Registry” tabs. The cleaner goes through all of the files on your computer and cleans off unnecessary and temporary files. This is turn gives back space to your PC, giving it more to work with. ALOT of space can be recovered by using this tab often. The “Registry” tab checks the entire registry on your computer and then fixes any errors. Registry errors are usually a big contributer to freezing and crashing on any computer. Running this tab on a regular basis will keep your computer top notch. 3rd EASY, FREE way! Security Guards

You may not know it, but your computer could be filled with countless viruses. You may think “That’s not true I run a virus scan daily.”. The Truth is that most programs don’t pick up EVERY virus thats why every good virus scanner needs help. If your like me however, you think virus scanners arn’t worth the cost. Lucky for you I have a list of free, easy to use Security Guards for your computer, each will be discussed in a little detail and a link will be provided.
The first Security Guard is a Virus Scanner, AVG.
AVG is a free virus scanner that can be compared in quality to any great virus scanner on todays market. I’ve gotten a few different viruses that my Norton didn’t catch, but AVG did. AVG simply runs a full scan on your PC that could be initiated by you, or set to auto scan any time, any day of the week. It’s simply unbeatable in quality, performance, and price (which is free

Malwarebytes is a neat little program. It’s a great virus scanner like AVG but can find things AVG can’t. Having it and AVG as a combo is a great way to ensure security on your PC. It found and removed 1 or 2 Trojans that AVG couldn’t even spot. It was also the only program I had that could get rid of a MAJOR virus I had. This sucker embedded itself into my system and acted like a “Microsoft virus alert’ that warned me that I had tons of Trojans, worms, and viruses on my PC and wanted me to purchase the full version of the “product” to clean them off! At first I panicked but then thought “why would Microsoft install a hidden program on my computer to tell me that I had infections that my security guards didn’t even pick up. After a little nervous research I found out that I had indeed downloaded a virus some way. After learning Malwarebytes was the only way to get rid of it After a quick download and run the worm was gone! As you could tell Malwarebytes saved my ass and it will probably save yours, so download it! Link: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ 3rd EASY, FREE way! Security Guards part 3
The security guard is a third and final virus scanner that is again, slightly different. It’s called Ad-Aware.
By now your probably thinking “geeze this guy just wants me to download virus scanners over and over again that do the same thing. I promise you I’m not, rather I’m giving you 3 layers of protection. AVG for your basic security, Malware-bytes for bigger problems, and Ad-aware for pop ups and the virus that they lead to. You see ad-aware takes away annoying pop ups so that your PC doesn’t lag as frequently down because of the memory required to show them. Trust me you want this on your pc if you want none of those damn “you one a free iphone” popups. 4th EASY, FREE way! Disk Cleanup and defragmenter
Disk cleanup and defragmenter are neat little tools come with your PC by default. Running each from time to time can really help your computers performance. They can both be found by clicking start-> all programs-> accessories-> system tools. Disk cleanup finds and cleans up old files left over from uninstalled programs that take up space on your harddrive while Disk defragmenter compacts similar files together on your harddrive to help save some space. 5th EASY, FREE way! Temporary Internet Files My final suggestion to help make your PC faster easily and for free is to run something called %temp%. Running %temp% will open up a window listing all of your temporary internet files. Deleting these files may cause a significant increase in both computer AND internet connection speed. In order to run %temp% simply click start, then find run, and finally type %temp% from there drag your mouse to select all files in the folder and then press delete. Like I said doing this will help your PC and internet speed. Your all done!

Hopefully the tips I have given you have helped you. Your computer should run much faster, maybe even like new. If it isn’t you may actually need to upgrade your hardware or worst case scenario, buy a new computer. Neither option is cheap either ( I know I just blew 35 bucks on a 1 gig stick of RAM). However if my tips didn’t help you others still might, try to find every option before making a purchase. If you have to make a purchase my best advice is to go with upgrading your RAM. I just did and now my pc is running the best it ever has. Thank you for reading my article and best luck to you on trying to make your PC faster.
