With the release of a new round of cloud-based software build management tools, IBM is enabling enhanced collaboration and maximum efficiency.
Build and deployment automation is a critical tool for efficient and agile execution of any software
development project, and the complexity of this process only increase as projects become bigger.
Recently, many companies have begun to leverage cloud-based application life cycle management tools
(ALM) to forge a stronger connection between development and operations.
In early June, IBM announced a continuation of this trend with the introduction of a new version of
its Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution which extends software build management
capabilities into the cloud with a suite of IBM SmartCloud products, including IBM SmartCloud
Enterprise, Application Services, Continuous Delivery, and Application Performance Management.
IBM SmartCloud Enterprise is designed to enable rapid access to secure, enterprise-level virtual server
environments for software development and testing. And with a convenient pay-as-you-go model,
SmartCloud Application Services enables companies to better coordinate across all stages of the
software development life cycle, including design, development, build, test and delivery.
With the IBM SmartCloud Continuous Delivery system, companies will be able to use DevOps capabilities
to accelerate deployment through automation, the standardization of repeatable processes and
enhanced coordination and transparency across the entire development/test/production team.
The IBM SmartCloud Application Performance Management provides widespread monitoring and
management to reduce troubleshooting and enables users to identify and resolve application issues
faster while also proactively preventing future defects.
With all of these powerful new tools available, IBM is poised to empower technology companies to
collaborate and innovate through the cloud with more quality, speed, and agility than ever before
possible.
