Chaos Hunters – The Prologue

The First Age

The world of -. A place where humans lived in fear, a place full of monsters, beasts of all shapes and sizes, they roamed their territories, searching for food. The humans were easy prey, and as such never settled anywhere for long, they were named the Wandering Tribes, searching for the end of the monsters realm, a place safe from the horrors.

They knew, inevitably, that they wouldn’t be able to hide forever, so they set out on finding more about the monsters, habitats, diets, strengths and weaknesses. They then used this knowledge to predict when the monsters would attack, and began to outsmart them, moving fast when the monsters got their scent, splitting into groups and going away from areas where monsters were in abundance.

The Second Age

The Wandering tribes grew tired of the hiding; they began to find suitable areas for irrigation, and made settlements. They underestimated the monsters however, and were attacked endlessly. The tribes stood together and fought back, trying to defend their villages. They eventually found and killed an injured monster, and saw that its scales, hides and bones were of immense strength, and had hidden properties they did not understand. They used these materials to protect their fighters, and soon began to craft some of the finest armour and weapons ever seen.

The Third Age

The humans then went on, expanding their villages into towns, making more armours and weapons for their warriors. They then began to go out looking for monsters with higher quality body parts, the younger monsters. With these parts, they created the most powerful weapons and armours there ever was, and ever will be.

The Fourth Age

The humans had an age of prosperity, they had no rivals, and they worked together and created the biggest empire in the world, bigger than their ancestors the Wandering tribes.

The hunters became famous and began to hunt the rarest and most strange beasts for publicity, they collected trophies to show of their achievements to each other. The richer businesses used them for advertising and to gain recognition, and began to sponsor them on hunts and paying the hunters. Lots of companies started to do this and it soon became known as a sport, monster hunting became the centre of attention, the most dangerous towns in the outskirts of the human empire thrived. Tournaments and groups began to occur, and the most famous of these was League 39, it consisted of 39 elite groups of hunters who competed to be the best. Since it began, people of all corners of the empire from the entire empire wanted to compete, but they had to prove themselves to the leagues, many tried, more failed. It is in this condition where we find our own Chaos Hunters…
