Unlimited Bandwidth is Disappearing

It seems that carriers and cable companies are losing their unlimited plans.

For the longest time we have been able to enjoy our unlimited wifi and data cellualr plans. It looks like that will be coming to an end. Verizon, as well as many other wireless companies and most of the cable companies who are providing bandwidth to get on the internet are finding it harder and harder to charge what they are charging for plans that let their customers have free reign over their bandwidth.

This is obviously something that will not be sustainable over the course of the next few years. It seems that many companies are now providing wifi as a service to their customers and with all the new wireless tablets, mp3 players and netbooks out there, the bandwidth available is starting to shrink.

What do we do? There is not a whole lot we can do. We have to find the carriers with the best plans for our money just like we do with anything else. We might be able to find other carriers that will continue their unlimited data plans, but who knows how the service will be compared to the one we are used to dealing with.

That’s interesting.. It’s going to piss off many people and they will switch until they get what they need.

Wouldn’t it be wise for the backbones to start an infrastructure of fiber optics? after all they are not going to be getting smaller as they get even more clients and more devices.

Great Article, and very good points, people will shop around until they find the best that suits them, and Companies I believe will always look for ways to improve their services.

Thank you for sharing.

Best Wishes,
Chris.
