If you’re running Microsoft windows you can set updates daily or you can do it manually. To check it manually; open your IE browser > Tools and click on windows updates. This will open the windows update page. Click on the desired button to update your windows operating system.
The next thing you need to do is run an anti-virus program. You need to keep it up to date. You need to set your antivirus program to update daily. It is always better to check it manually if you think it may not be updating correctly. There are many great free antivirus programs on the internet. A couple of good free antivirus sites are avg.com and avast.com. Both are free and keep you up to date. When you go to avg.com type in free in the search bar and it will take you to a page to download the free version. The only downside to this free version is that you must manually update it. If you feel this is too much of a task you can pay for the next step up and it downloads automatically. Run your antivirus program daily. Make sure it is checking your email and your surfing habits.
