"This time Network Security Sam remembered to upload the password file, but there were deeper problems than that"
“This time Network Security Sam remembered to upload the password file, but there were deeper problems than that.” Oh, goody! It’s another problem for us to solve our way around! If we open up the page source file we should be able to find a .txt file (it may be php) or something of the sorts. When you find it enter it at the end of the URL and press enter. PRESTO! You have the password.
Why it works: The password had to be uploaded to somewhere, and because it isn’t encrypted or hidden well, you are able to view it in a simple browser. If he had hidden it at all, this wouldn’t work, but Sam seems to be ignorant, so that works to our advantage.
Have fun, be safe, and don’t do anything stupid! (or at least don’t get caught)
