I went from downloading 2.9 Mb/s to downloading 15.23 Mb/s!
A lady from the FiOS Verizon DSL company told me about it and it worked very well! Here’s how
- Download the TCP Optimizer on this page: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php Before doing anything, try running a speed test before and after the change so you can see any differences. You can use this Speed Test to accurately measure your speed. Make sure you’re not downloading or uploading while the test is in progress.
- Run the program and backup your settings by clicking on “File > Backup current settings.” Then change the top bar to your Maximum Download speed and on the bottom click on “Optimal Settings.”
- Click on “Apply Changes”, and then click on “OK” to save the changes. You will be prompted to restart your computer. Do so, and your speed should be much faster. I haven’t tried any of the other settings yet, but feel free to.
- Run the speed test again. High chance that the download/upload speed will be very good!
- IF THE RESULT IS BAD, then open the program and click on “File > Restore backed up settings” (if you backed up your settings) or Restore Windows Default settings.

Seems simple and understandable tutorial. Is there any kind of replacement for Ubuntu?
